One of the trees I use for bird feeding was dying so it had to be removed. I was so sad, our friends (Lisanne + Brandon) surprised me for my birthday with this amazing bird feeding pole. So far the birds love it + I've been seeing new bird breeds more often. The black + white one below is a female woodpecker.
We came back to this trail + I had one mission in mind, find mushroom. I strickly brought my macro lens so I wasn't distracted. We found various mushrooms but my favorite picture was the one that had been kicked upside-down.
I'm all about the hunt with my camera. I like to find birds in their natural habitat like deep in the trees or bushes. It requires me to sit in some weird places waiting for the right moment but shots like these make it all worth it in my eyes.
This bird feeder was here when we moved in. The squirrels ate through the string so I replaced it with leftover jewelry chain. So far it's held up pretty well.
I recently discovered an app called AllTrails. Wherever you are it shows you the nearest trails + all it's details. This is the first one me + my husband tried. We are now hooked!! This place was great. There are a few trail options. You can stay in the woods or be out in the open. Either way you're surrounded by all this beauty. There is a blurry picture of mushrooms due to my lack of lenses so I plan on going back to get another very soon.
Every bird for themselves when it comes to eating. Watching these birds fight their way in for a small snack is fascinating. They have more personality than I ever realized + extremely entertaining.
On my way back from the Dam I cam cross this beach right next to the bridge. I spent a few minutes here but I don't think the camera left my face for a second.
Hope RI is a beautiful town. We have friends that live out there so after leaving their house I went on the hunt for this dam. It took me a little while to find the entrance and I'm not sure if I went in the right way but it was completely worth it.
All summer I was chasing Blue Jays + Cardinals. The Blue Jay makes a frequent appearance in our backyard but moves so fast. The Cardinal is much more rare. On this day I caught both!! Also another red/orange bird that I have yet to identify.
