If you want to know one thing about me, I will NEVER tire of looking, photographing or talking about the moon. I am completely obsessed. No matter what phase it's in, day or night - it always leaves me in aw. This was a super clear evening + night so I figured I would add to my collection. The shot of the airplane was completely spontaneous but I liked the way it came out. I just wish I could of got it in the same frame as the moon... next time!
This was an impromptu photo shoot that happened in about 30 seconds. Some of my favorite photographs are from the most random moments. Currently I am temporarily working in downtown Providence. The building I work in has the most amazing view of Providence. I happen to have my camera when my boss first showed me this breathtaking site. My first thought was "everything the light touches" via the Lion King :)
I took a few shots in the morning + then again right before I left. The difference in light was really cool to see. I hope to get back up there really soon! This time with a tripod and a little more time to play.
Nothing stops me from visiting the beach. While in Newport after a small snow storm, I made a quick trip to First Beach. I spent the morning watching the waves spray from the wind + the birds searching for breakfast. My fingers froze a bit but it was absolutely worth it. I LOVE photographing the water. Like the snowflakes, no two waves are ever the same.
I also captured a clear close up of a seagull + his beautiful wings. This was shortly after meeting the eagles so I labeled February as my best bird month ever!!! (so far...)
About a month ago I was on my way home when I thought I heard the cry of an eagle. I had never seen an eagle in Rhode Island with the exception of the Zoo. I didn't see it anywhere so I thought maybe I heard something else. Fast forward to Valentines Day, when me + Tom were driving home and suddenly, BOOM!!! There was an eagle flying right by our house.
I ran inside and grabbed my camera. I was walking towards the trees it flew into when a neighbor came out of his house and asked "Are you looking for the Eagle??" I replied YES and he proceeded to tell me how they live on the golf course across the street from us. He told me people have been coming from all over to take their picture. He also showed me where their nest was. I patiently waited near their nest for a bit but had no luck.
I started slowly walking back to the house when I looked over and saw two oddly shaped lumps on a tree branch in the distance. I used my zoom lens to scope it out and their they were!!! Two absolutely breathtaking eagles sitting next to each. I started clicking my camera as fast as I could. The pictures below happened in about 1-2mintues. It was a brief meeting with these two but it almost went by in slow motion.
When I finally looked at my camera (praying I had captured something rad), my prayers were answered!!! One of the eagles had flown straight towards me and I somehow captured it perfectly, with one shot and no tripod. My body bursted with excited in words I can not describe. It was was by far the most SPECTACULAR photo I have every taken. THANK YOU Universe!!!!!
